International workshop “State-of-the-art competence center programmes in Europe. Opportunities for EU-Russia Science and Technology Collaboration”
On May 28, 2015, the “State-of-the-art competence center programmes in Europe. Opportunities for EU-Russia Science and Technology Collaboration” international workshop will take place at National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).
The goal of the workshop is to enhance cooperation between European and Russian competence centers. The target audience in Russia includes R&D and manufacturing consortia and engineering centers. From the EU side, the workshop will bring together representatives of competence centers from Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Ireland working in the fields of robotics, composite materials, additive technologies, photonics, etc.
The workshop will serve several purposes:
- to discuss opportunities of cooperation between EU and Russian Competence Centers;
- to discuss best EU practices in building and managing competence centers, for their future adaptation in the Russian context;
- to contribute to the development of recommendations on the mechanisms of supporting international cooperation of competence centers (internships, joint research), including measures of state support.
The workshop is organized in the framework of the EU 7th RTD Framework Programme BILAT-RUS-Advanced project (“Enhancing the Bilateral S&T Partnership with the Russian Federation”). The organizers of the workshop are Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), German Aerospace Agency (DLR), Russian Technology Transfer Network (RTTN), and National Research University Higher School of Economics.
The partners of the event include Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Russian Foundation for Industrial Development, Russian Technological Agency, Center of Strategic Development, Russian Venture Company, Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.

Working languages: English and Russian with simultaneous translation.
