Dr. Dirk Meissner on Managing Innovation in Turbulent Times

Event ended
British Academy of Management

On April 12, Dr. Dirk Meissner will discuss the human dimension of innovation, look at the dark side of innovation and creativity and consider trial and error from a different perspective at the webinar organised by the British Academy of Management (London, UK).

About the speaker: Dr. Dirk Meissner — Head of the Research Laboratory for Economics of Innovation and Academic Supervisor of the Master’s programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' at HSE ISSEK.

Description:

Managing Innovation has always been a challenge for corporations — it’s a lot about human, creativity, free spirit and monitoring, uncertainty, failure and success. During the pandemic however unexpected events happened which changed the markets and the way of work. Much has been talked about remote work for decades — suddenly that was in place; long debates occurred about online business — now it’s stronger than ever. What does this mean for managing innovation under such constellations? Either nothing at all since innovation is always managing uncertainty or everything. Neither of both is true in the end. However it seems that people have changed, are more aware of uncertain events, become more focused in what they do. This might call for a revised thinking of managing the innovation process.
