4 Vacancies for Foreign Postdocs for the 2021/2022 Academic Year
Under the Higher School of Economics Postdoctoral Fellowship Program ISSEK HSE offers vacancies in a wide range of research areas in the field of science, technology and innovation (STI): from studying economics of knowledge stakeholders (scientists, representatives of creative professions, innovators) to analyzing the factors of innovative development in cities and regions, as well as the impact of digital technologies on human life and society. Research Positions at ISSEK for Foreign Postdocs
SOCIOLOGY AND LABOUR MARKET STUDIES OF HIGHLY QUALIFIED R&D PERSONNEL
Supervisor: Dr. Natalia Shmatko, Head of the Department for Human Capital Research of the Centre for Statistics and Monitoring of Education at ISSEK HSE
Participants are encouraged to pursue their own research along with working on ISSEK’s research projects such as:
- Reproduction of S&T Human Resources: Education, Attraction and Retention of Highly Qualified Personnel

CREATIVE ECONOMY STUDIES
Supervisor: Dr. Mikhail Gershman, Deputy Director of the Centre for Science, Technology, Innovation and Information Policy at ISSEK HSE

The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:
Candidates must hold a recent PhD in related scientific areas which was awarded no more than 5 years ago or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university.
Important: to become a postdoc at HSE, you must complete your postgraduate studies and defend your thesis at any university except HSE.
Candidates should have a strong scientific background and be interested in applied empirical research; as well as have a clear proposal for research project (s), be able to conduct research and work in a team.
Important: to become a postdoc at HSE, you are asked for recommendations of external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Fluent English is an obligatory condition as at HSE research and other activities are conducted in English.
Important: knowledge of Russian is not required.
