3.6% of Students in Russian Universities are Foreigners

These figures are from the new data book prepared by HSE ISSEK ‘Education in the Russian Federation’, due to be published towards the end of 2014.

Since 2011 the number of foreign students in Russian universities has increased by 1.2%.

Three quarters of foreign students are from the CIS and Baltic countries, Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. They study in Russian universities on terms of general admissions and according to international agreements. Students from further afield are predominantly from China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Mongolia.
