41% (figure of the day)

of Russians aged 25—64 years who are receiving continuing education are doing so for general development or to follow their passions. These data were collected during a nationwide representative survey of participation by adults in continuing education. The survey was carried out as part of a Monitoring of Education Markets and Organisations study conducted by HSE in collaboration the Levada Centre in the autumn of 2014.

Most often Russians continue their education in order to improve their professional knowledge and skills (51%). In addition, respondents say that continuing education makes it possible to achieve a higher salary and acquire skills for part-time work (respondents could choose more than one answer).

An informational bulletin will be published in 2015.
