Figure of the day: 8.9%

is the share of innovative products in total sales made by industrial enterprises. These data are presented in a new HSE Data Book — “Indicators of Innovation: 2015” — which will be published in early 2015.

This is the largest figure for the entire period that innovative activity in the Russian economy has been observed since the mid-1990s.

In high-tech sectors, such as those that manufacture air- and spacecraft, medical equipment, pharmaceutical products, and communications equipment, the share of innovative products in total sales is almost twice as high as the market average, reaching 16.9%.
