Russian regions are taking part in ‘Management of Regional Clusters: Best International Practices’, a research and practical seminar that began today at the Higher School of Economics and was organised by Russian Cluster Observatory at HSE ISSEK.

Territorial clusters serve as efficient tools for cooperation among participants in the regional innovation system, which allow for new poles of economic growth to be generated. HSE is holding a seminar for representatives of cluster development centres and cluster administrative agencies from March 30 to April 1 with the support of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, the Foundation for Promotion of Small Enterprises in Science and Technology and the Russian Venture Company (RVC).

The main event of the first two days will be a training programme offered by Werner Pamminger, managing director of Clusterland Upper Austria, called ‘Secrets of Success in Custer Centre Development.’ ‘A Discussion of RVC Challenges in Developing Clusters and Regional Innovation Ecosystems in 2015’ and ‘Relevant Directions of Cluster Centre Development in Russia’ are two other events (the discussion will be conducted by the Foundation for Promotion of Small Enterprises in Science and Technology).

On April 1, there will be a conference called ‘Tools for Improving the Quality of Management in Russian Clusters’ along with a strategic session on ‘Improving Federal Non-financial Instruments to Facilitate the Development of Clusters in Russian Regions’, which will be attended by representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, development institutions and advisory organisations. On the closing day of the seminar, the HSE Russian Cluster Observatory will present the ‘Map of Cluster Initiatives in Russia’.

A detailed programme for the seminar can be found at the webpage.
