X International Academic Conference 'Foresight and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy'

On November 9–13, 2020, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University) will host X International Academic Conference 'Foresight and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy' organised by HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK).

The conference participants will discuss a broad range of topics in the domain of S&T Foresight and STI policy-making, examine new approaches and instruments of R&D management and exchange best practices of their application.

Renowned Russian and foreign scientists and experts representing more than 20 countries and a number of international organisations, governmental agencies, development institutions, companies, foundations, leading research and educational centers of the world will take part in the conference.

Special emphasis will be put on the new challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and on the evolving agenda of foresight studies and science and technology policy.

The conference programme will feature several main sessions:

✦ Post-COVID Future: What Foresight Can Tell Us;

✦ Big Data for the Future: Instruments and Applications;

✦ Foresight: Future Trends and Disruptions;

✦ STI Policy: How it Will Change after COVID-19;

✦ Special workshop 'Prospects of Science and Technology in BRICS Countries';

✦ Special workshop 'Being Human in the 21st Century';

✦ Special workshop 'Technological Upgrading'.

Format: Due to the pandemic limitations, the conference will be organised fully on-line. Since Zoom virtual platform has a limited capacity, we invite you to follow our event on ISSEK Channel on YouTube. All the events included in the programme will be broadcasted live; links to the English and Russian broadcasts will be posted on the conference web site prior to the event.

Conference working languages: English and Russian with simultaneous translation.

Registration: Participation in the conference is free of charge; there is no registration fee. To attend the conference, please register before 18:00 November 6, 2020.
