Figure of the day: 16
was the increase in the number of working hours per week for teachers at Russian universities in 2014 in comparison with 2013. These data were obtained in a survey of teachers at institutions of higher education that was carried out as part of a Monitoring of Education Markets and Organisations study conducted by HSE in collaboration with the Levada Centre in 2014, and coordinated by Centre for Statistics and Monitoring of Education at HSE ISSEK.
Over the last five years, the total number of working hours of university teachers slowly fell initially, from 41 hours per week in 2010 to 38 hours per week in 2013. However, in the last year, the number has increased dramatically to 54 hours per week.
The results of the study will be published in a information bulletin in 2015.
