Figure of the day: 73,4%

of the fundings are spent on technical sciences in Russia. These data were published in the newsletter "The budget allocation for scientific researches and inventions" in the HSE ISSEK "Science, Technology, Innovations" series (in Russian).

The second-largest domestic expenditures on research and development (R&D) are spent on the natural sciences (17,4% in 2015). Miniscual fundings (3.5%) are allocated on medical science in Russia (for comparison in Bulgaria — 43.3%, Greece — 20.5%, Singapore — 18.1%). The lowest share in the structure of R&D make up the costs of social (2.6%), agricultural (1.6%) and humanitarian (1.5%) sciences.
