On September 29–30, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will organise an International Scientific and Practical Conference, the “BRICS Water Forum”, in Higher School of Economics in order to discuss the sustainable use of water resources and related advanced solutions in this field. Selected papers will be invited to be published in special issues of the highly cited research journals "Water Resources" and "Foresight and STI Governance", indexed in Scopus.
Key events
The mayors of science towns, members of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and experts from Higher School of Economics discussed the practical aspects of meeting the requirements of the new federal law “On the Status of Science Town” that comes into force next year at a conference hosted by HSE ISSEK on July 5.
On June 29, HSE ISSEK released the fourth issue of the Russian Regional Innovation Development Ranking. For the first time since 2008, Moscow has lost its leading position. On June 28, the first cohort graduated from the HSE ISSEK Master's programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation. Before the ceremony, Rae Kwon Chung, Principal Advisor on Climate Change at the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General and a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, delivered a lecture on reformulating economics to serve sustainable development. On June 18, Ozcan Saritas, Leading Research Fellow at the HSE ISSEK Foresight Centre, moderated a Foresight session “Science, Technology, and Innovation: Impact on Interconnection of Energy, Environment, and Economy” with the participation of Nobel Prize winners at the Global Energy Prize stand at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
On June 16–17, the 9th MEIDE Conference "Model-based Evidence on Innovation and Development" was held in Moscow, Russia. The event was organised by UNU-MERIT (United Nations University — Maastricht Economic and Social Research and Training Institute on Innovation and Technology) and HSE.
On April 2022, HSE supported by the World Bank hosted the XVII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. HSE ISSEK organised two special sections: “Science and Technology Foresight” and “Science, Technology and Innovation Policy”. Learn more by following the link.
