International round table of Foresight and STI Governance journal ‘Bridging the Gap Between Technological Complexity and Cognitive Abilities When Dealing with the Future’
On November 10, 2023, an International round table ‘Bridging the Gap between Technological Complexity and Cognitive Abilities when Dealing with the Future’ will be held at the HSE University. The event is organised by the editorial board of the Foresight and STI Governance journal, published by the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK).
The discussion focuses on the challenges of decision-making and optimisation of strategies to cope with an increasingly complex environment driven by the high dynamics of technological development in order to respond to wicked problems. The participants will discuss early signs and markers inherent to a system (company, project) — identity, strengths and weaknesses, contradictions, errors and tips on how to avoid them, etc., that enable more accurate predictions for system’s success or failure and the possibility of transformation in new and better directions. The focus will also be on new tools and practices that promote a better and more holistic understanding of complex processes to improve their management.
