Elena Nechaeva

The Center for Socio-Economic Information Processing was created to carry out research in the following fields: development and support of information systems for the solution of statistical and analytical tasks, information support in statistical data analysis and analytical support for managerial decision-making; arranging, storage and retrospective accumulation of statistical information; development of technologies for collection, processing, analysis, representation and distribution of data from monitoring studies and expert surveys; collection and processing the results of research; information and statistical support for the educational process and scientific research; support for the use of statistical information resources and results of research in the educational process.

As part of the HSE’s innovative educational programme, in 2006 an informational and analytical system ‘Statistics and monitoring of the knowledge economy: science, innovations, education, information society’ was created. Informational support of the system is largely based on the results of the ISSEK’s many years of study into statistical problems, socio-economic development in science and innovations, education and professional training, information and telecommunication technologies.

One of the important areas of the Center’s activity is the publication and distribution of original statistical bulletins and educational materials. The unique data provided in the publications are used in education and research and are an important source of information for both the educational and academic communities, as well as federal and local executive bodies.
