Lecture «Future of Mass Communications» by Andrew Heyward

On June 20, 2012 the  Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge HSE, organized an open lecture  by Andrew Heyward «Future of Mass Communications».

Andrew Heyward is a nationally known news executive, award-winning producer, and expert on the changing media landscape. He helps media companies develop innovative online ventures and profitable digital strategies; create new content and services; and transform their businesses to drive growth and revenue in an age of rapid evolution.

As a senior adviser to Monitor Group, a partner in the boutique strategy firm MarketspaceNext, and in his own advisory practice, Heyward works with blue-chip television, newspaper, magazine, and marketing clients as well as non-profit organizations.

Heyward was President, CBS News, from January 1996-November 2005. During that time, CBS News programming grew significantly in audience, regularly scheduled hours and profitability. Under Heyward’s leadership, CBS News’s tradition of journalistic quality and integrity was recognized with an extraordinary number of broadcast journalism’s most prestigious awards.

Before his tenure as President, Heyward was executive producer of The CBS Evening News. Heyward was also responsible for developing and launching 48 Hours, the primetime CBS News hour that premiered in January 1988. He has won 12 national Emmy Awards.
