International Workshop: Exchange of experience and fostering networking with information service providers in the sphere of science, technology and innovation
On April 26, 2012 the Higher School of Economics (HSE) hosted an international workshop titled "Exchange of experience and fostering networking with information service providers in the sphere of science, technology and innovation". Participants discussed the methods and tools of information and dissemination support for S&T activities, as well as existing and potential areas of cooperation btween Russia and the European Union.
The seminar was opened by Manuel Hallen, Adviser on Science and Technology, Delegation of the European Union to Russia and Anna Pikalova, Director of the Centre of International Projects, Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISIEZ), National Research University "Higher School of Economics."
The role of information dissemination to strengthen Russian-European cooperation in science, technology and innovation, its current status and access to information, were the subjects addressed by Joern Gruenewald, International Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, who presented the web portal S&T Gate RUS.EU, developed by the BILAT-RUS project: download presentation
The presentation of Yuri Arsk, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Russian Academy of Sciences, was dedicated to the cooperation potential with the EU.
Anna Pikalova talked about the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge and anlso presented the FP7 funded BILAT-RUS project: "Strengthening the bilateral scientific and technological cooperation with the Russian Federation." download presentation
A presentation about the portal ERAWATCH, representing an integrated information tool on the European, national (not just the EU) and regional scientific and technological systems and policies, was made by Manfred Spiesberger, Center for Social Innovation (Austria): download presentation

The second part of the seminar was opened by Vyacheslav Zabelin, Deputy Head of the Federal State Statistics Service, who spoke about the international exchange of statistical information.
