The Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge gathered experts on regional management and innovation development in Russian regions for a workshop held on 25 April, 2013 at the Higher School of Economics.
Professor Jonathan Linton, Power Corporation Professor for the Management of Technological Enterprise of the University of Ottawa, Canada, and Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Technovation‘ journal gave a presentation ‘Centers of Excellence. Research Strategy and Portfolio Planning’ at the XIV HSE April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. He gave a special interview to the HSE news service.
On February, 27, 2013 the regular workshop for the participants of the Russian S&T Foresight 2030 took place at the Higher School of Economics. The discussion of the principal results achieved within the project framework in 2012 as well as of the objectives for the year 2013, was held under the guidance of reconciling various Foresight blocks.
Developers of the Russian S&T Foresight 2030 presented the results of their year-long work at the scientific conference at the Higher School of Economics on 12 November, 2012. The participating experts discussed global trends which affect the future of the economy and society, new markets, products, and promising S&T areas.
On November 6, 2012 a public workshop, dedicated to "green" energy, by Professor Dimitrios Mavrakis was held at the Higher School of Economics. According to the expert, "green" energy development is able to defeat the growing global threat of energy shortages and decreasing living standards caused by the deteriorating environment.
International scientific conference Foresight: Innovative Answers to Global Challenges, organised jointly with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), was held at the Higher School of Economic on 18-19 October, 2012. For Russian long-term futures research experts, it was a major venue for discussing promising areas of future-oriented studies.
