In recent years, the number of women in the Russian research world decreased from 151500 in 2014 to 148300 in 2016. However, there are more doctoral and postdoctoral scholars amongst the female population than males, according to the recent issue of the HSE ISSEK data book “Science and Technology Indicators in the Russian Federation”.

"Curie", a Swedish web magazine devoted to the world of research, refers to the data book “Science, Technology and Innovations: 2017” published by the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge. The HSE ISSEK experts compared data about the application of technological, marketing, and organisational innovations by the Russian knowledge-intensive business services sector (KIBS) companies with relevant figures for European countries such as the UK, Germany, Denmark, Malta, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The present data book is another one in the series of publications, dedicated to different aspects of scientific development in the Russian Federation. It begins with tables, where together with the main science and technology indicators there are data concerning the main innovative activities.
