HSE University Consistently Ranks Among Top 3 Russian Universities
HSE University has been named a leading Russian university in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings for the fourth year in a row. HSE ranked third among Russian universities and appeared in the 301–350 bracket worldwide.
HSE Joins Moscow Innovation Cluster
HSE University has become a member of the Moscow Innovation Cluster (MIC) and joined the i.moscow digital platform. The University will be able to collaborate with other participants in the Moscow innovation ecosystem, as well as seek partners for joint research and development testing.

The master’s programme in Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation offered by HSE ISSEK aims to equip students with skills that are in short supply in the private and public sectors. Courses and internship work give students a global perspective on science, technology, and innovation in addition to showing them how to be effective managers and conduct evidence-based assessment. Students also have the option of pursuing a double degree with a partner university in Europe and Asia. HSE University is pleased to announce the relaunch of its popular webinar series, Megacities of the future 2:0. New Challenges. The series focuses on issuesof modern urban development and is team taught by HSE University professors and lecturers from different faculties. The webinars consider urban developmental issues through the lenses of a range of fields, including Arts and Design, Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics and Communication Systems, Economics and Management, Urban Studies, and Russian Studies.

On 27 May, 2019 Steven Griffiths, Senior Vice President for Research and Development at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (UAE), and member of the International Award Committee of the Global Energy Prize, delivered an open lecture at the Higher School of Economics.
Business Hackathon Creation Lab in Cologne
HSE students participated in Creation Lab, an annual international business hackathon, which is organised as part of the World Business Dialogue in Cologne. The forum’s partner educational, power and retail businesses will implement the best of the suggested solutions in their operations. For the second year in a row, Olga Dremova, a student of the of the HSE ISSEK master’s programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation', participated in the hackathon. Her team defended the idea of how to simplify the admission of foreign exchange students with the using gamification.
International student Stefan Hanssen about his internship at ISSEK
Stefan Hanssen, a native of Switzerland, is currently a second-year student in HSE’s Master’s Programme 'Financial Analyst (CFA Institute University Affiliation Program)' offered by the HSE Banking Institute. He is currently undergoing an internship at ISSEK. Stefan told the HSE news service about the decision to study in Russia, internship and living in Moscow.
Futures Literacy of Students
HSE ISSEK joined the ‘FORESIGHT — Future Oriented Education for Students Incorporating GSC in High-paced Times’ project launched by five European universities. The three-year project funded by European Union started with the kickoff meeting held on November, 29–30 in Tilburg (the Netherlands). HSE ISSEK was represented by a post-doctoral research fellow Dr. Oguz Demir, who will be the overall coordinator of the project.
