Leonid Gokhberg: “Regional innovation development rating is a natural next step in our research”

On 27 June, the Parlamentskaya Gazeta’s press centre hosted a round table discussion “Measuring regions’ performance: efficiency and control techniques”. One of the participants was first vice-rector, director of the NRU HSE ISSEK Leonid Gokhberg. He presented the innovation development rating of the RF regions which the Higher School of Economics was calculating for several years in a row.

Growing Demand Revives Retail

A seasonal revival in consumer demand stimulated an increase inretail trade in Q2 2014. Food retail showed the best results, but intensified moods to save household earnings, a slowdown in income growth, high inflation, and difficulties in obtaining consumer credit might soon change the situation, according to experts from the Centre for Business Tendency Studies at HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge in their latest monitoring of the retail business climate.

of industrial companies are anticipating further price increases in the next 3-4 months for the products they manufacture. 38% of enterprises expect growing prices for raw materials. This information comes from a monitoring study on the business climate in the production industry carried out by the Centre for Business Tendency Studies at the HSE’s ISSEK.

This data was obtained during a survey of Russian families with children aged 4—22 that was conducted in the autumn of 2013 as part of a joint project between the Monitoring of Education Markets and Organisations (MEMO project is coordinated by HSE ISSEK Centre for Statistics and Monitoring of Education) and the Public Opinion Foundation.

Information Society: Trends in Regions of the Russian Federation

The data book is issued for the first time by HSE ISSEK together with Federal State Statistics Service and presents the main trends in information society development in the subjects of the Russian Federation.
