According to tradition, in mid-April, the HSE ISSEK Master's programme “Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation” holds an Open Doors Day. In conditions of social isolation, the meeting of potential applicants and programme representatives was first held in an online format — like “Open Windows Day”.
A large-scale study conducted by the HSE Laboratory for Media Communications in Education found that the situation with online education is better than was first thought when schools had to switch to Internet-based learning to help stop the spread of coronavirus infections.

The Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge of the Higher School of Economics (ISSEK HSE) presents 2019 survey results regarding the usage of remote work and online training practices across KIBS companies in Russia. The survey results indicate that Russian KIBS companies have been actively adopting remote work practices, online training and cooperation with customers even before the worsening of the epidemiological situation.
The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) has presented data about the current conditions in which Russia’s schools and universities must now transition to online learning. According to their data, only 11.4% of university instructors with a PhD (or Doctor of Sciences degree) used online tools in their teaching in the last year.
On May 14–15, 2020, the Third BRICS Water Forum will be held at Kazan Federal University (Kazan, Russia). The event is included in the calendar of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship, and is organised by HSE ISSEK with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
HSE University and Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) will organize working groups on issues related to statistical accounting and implement several joint research projects. On February 28, HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov and Rosstat Head Pavel Malkov signed a roadmap outlining the planned bilateral cooperation.
