'Infected' Industry
Within the first two months of the lockdown, COVID-19 had crippled almost all key production aspects of Russian industry. Although the economic fall began to abate in May, economic growth relative to that of 2019 may not be regained until 2022. The Centre for Business Tendencies Studies of the HSE ISSEK studied the results of a survey conducted in May by the Federal Service of State Statistics of four thousand managers of Russian industrial enterprises. Technology vs. Coronavirus
What does patent activity tell us? Until 2018, Russia conducted its anti-coronavirus studies only for veterinary purposes at the VECTOR State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology in Novosibirsk, which filed only two requests for corresponding patents. Foresight and STI Governance Journal Enters Scopus Q1
The journal Foresight and STI Governance published by HSE University has joined the ‘elite’ of Scopus, the biggest international database for research citations. In the latest ranking, this journal appears in Q1 for the following areas: Economics, Econometrics and Finance, and Decision Sciences in the ‘miscellaneous’ category. Foresight and STI Governance has become the first HSE University journal in social sciences to achieve this level of success.

Impact of Digital Technologies on Russian KIBS
The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge analysed the KIBS firms’ demand for digital technologies and the impact of their adoption on business activity. Top management survey results have shown that about 50% of the companies use big data analysis tools, and only 5.4% implement Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies. About 80% of KIBS firms applied different types of digital tools to optimise business process-es and increase competitiveness even before their massive development during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to tradition, in mid-April, the HSE ISSEK Master's programme “Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation” holds an Open Doors Day. In conditions of social isolation, the meeting of potential applicants and programme representatives was first held in an online format — like “Open Windows Day”.
HSE Study Findings: 74 Percent of Teachers Who Did Not Employ Online Resources Now Use Them
A large-scale study conducted by the HSE Laboratory for Media Communications in Education found that the situation with online education is better than was first thought when schools had to switch to Internet-based learning to help stop the spread of coronavirus infections.
