Long-term development scenarios: what they should look like
One of the events of the HSE’s XV April International Academic Conference and the ISSEK workshop “Long-term Science, Technology and Innovation Foresight: Challenges to S&T Policy” was the first in 2014 meeting of the Inter-Departmental Commission (IDC) on Technology Foresight of the Presidium of the RF Presidential Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovative Development.

Leonid Gokhberg: “Innovation Policy Must Become the Core of the National Socio-Economic Policy”
On 2 April, 2014 the RF prime minister Dmitry Medvedev visited the Higher School of Economics, to discuss with the participants of the XV April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development the steps the government should be taking to support innovation and social policy in the new context. Leonid Gokhberg, first vice-rector and director of the NRU HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, contributed to the discussion. Here’s a transcript of his comments.
The Five 'C's: Essential Elements for Building Foresight
Attila Havas, PhD, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Economics, Centre for Economic and Regional Studies, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, shared his views with the HSE news service on the development of foresight practices in Russia and around the world, and talked about his impressions of the April Conference, where for the first time he is a participant and moderator of sections dedicated to foresight practices.

The XV April International Conference on Economic and Social Development
The conference opens on the 1st April 2014 at the HSE with the participation of the World Bank and the IMF. The Deputy Chairman of the Conference Programme Committee Andrei Yakovlev spoke about some of the key sessions, lectures and seminars to look out for. This year the conference will hold series of special seminars, among them there will be HSE ISSEK Workshop “Long-term Science, Technology and Innovation Foresight: Challenges to S&T Policy”.
Indicators of Innovation in the Russian Federation: 2014
The data book presents the results of innovation surveys in the Russian Federation. It contains internationally compatible indicators characterising the level of innovative activity in industry and services.

Professor Jonathan Linton: 'An Opportunity to Learn a Great Deal in Moscow'
Professor Jonathan Linton, Power Corporation Professor for the Management of Technological Enterprise of the University of Ottawa, Canada, and Editor-in-Chief of the Technovation journal has been appointed as the new Head of the HSE Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies at ISSEK the Institute of Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge.
