Energy Saving: Forecasts and Research

Recently the U.S. Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law (USRF) awarded a grant to the Higher School of Economics and the University of North Carolina for a joint research project. Oleg Karasev, Deputy Director of the HSE Foresight Center, told us about this project.

‘Internationalization of Education is Becoming a Real University Practice’

A survey conducted through the HSE website as part of the second stage of the OECD research project entitled ‘Institutional Management in Higher Education’has been completed and the results published . Tatiana Meshkova, Assistant Rector of the HSE, told us about the project’s goals and the initial results.

Project workshop "Opportunities and needs for advanced cooperation schemes of S&T and innovation programme owners in EU MS/AC and Russia"

The second ERA.Net RUS workshop was successfully implemented in Moscow and came accross large interest of stakeholder involved in S&T cooperation between EU MS/AC and Russia. Among the 60 participants were programme owners, members of the ERA.Net RUS Consortium, members of the European Commission, DG Research and S&T Councillors at EU/AC embassies in Moscow.

Eurostatistics of Knowledge Economy

At a seminar on October 9th at the HSE, Veijo Ritola, Head of Eurostat Sector on Statistics on Science, Technology and Innovation, presented his report ‘Eurostat's statistics on science, technology and innovation (European Commission)’, where he explained how statistics are gathered and processed in the EU. We publish a report and an audio extract from the seminar .

Nano Time

On October 7th –8th the Second Nanotechnology International Forum took place in Moscow. One of its most important sessions, Foresight, Roadmaps and Indicators for Nanotechnology and Nanoindustry, was organized by experts from the Higher School of Economics.

To the Future with Foresight

Foresight research allows us to predict the future, and therefore to be ready for it. This was the main idea of the seminar ‘Scientific, Technical and Innovation Policies ’which was held on October 6th by the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge with the participation of experts from the University of Manchester.
