Medvedev Rewards Strategy 2020 Experts
The Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, has awarded honours to some researchers from the Higher School of Economics for their work on the Strategy 2020 expert groups, including organization of the groups, the preparation of suggestions on topical issues for Russian socio-economic strategy up to 2020 and their personal input into the expert and analytical work
International Workshop: Exchange of experience and fostering networking with information service providers in the sphere of science, technology and innovation
On April 26, 2012 the Higher School of Economics (HSE) hosted an international workshop titled "Exchange of experience and fostering networking with information service providers in the sphere of science, technology and innovation". Participants discussed the methods and tools of information and dissemination support for S&T activities, as well as existing and potential areas of cooperation btween Russia and the European Union.

On April 6, 2012 Dr. Rafael Popper delivered the seminar "iKNOW community: new methods in Foresight and Innovation Management". The event was organized by the HSE Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies.The seminar was devoted to communication platform iKNOW operating in the field of Foresight, innovation and horizons scanning.
Seminar on "Science and Technology Foresight: Methods and Practice"
On April 4, 2012 the Research Laboratory of Science and Technology Studies, HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK), organized the workshop "Science and Technology Foresight: Methods and Practice". Issues of the future development of science and technology, prospects of emerging and general purpose technologies, and evaluation of effectiveness of Foresight studies were considered at the workshop.

Presentations were made by the experts from the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, University of Manchester (UK); Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation; Siberian State Medical University, and HSE.
Innovations: a New Elective Course
In April a new all-university elective course on Science, Technology and Innovation: Analysis, Strategies and Policy will be launched at the HSE. It will be delivered in English by leading HSE international professors as well as some visiting experts. Dirk Meissner, Deputy Head of the HSE Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies, and one of the authors of the course, told us more about the course, its structure and specifics.
The University as a Center for Research and Business Innovation
At a recent meeting on the problems of applied research and innovative infrastructure development at the Higher School of Economics, the problems of the university’s development as a research center were considered. Leonid Gokhberg, First Vice Rector of the HSE, told us more about this issue.
