Industrial clusters are getting into the orbit of the cluster policy

In 2016, integrated government support will be provided not just to innovative clusters but also to industrial ones. According to experts of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge’s Russian Cluster Observatory, there’re 125 clusters in Russia currently active in the industrial production field. However, only those included in the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Registry would be able to receive financial support from the government budget. The ministry is going to set the registry up very shortly.

ICT sector, Content and Media Sector and IT Industry Officially Defined

The Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation approved aggregate classification groups “Information and Communication Technologies Sector” (ICT), “Content and Media Sector” (CMM), and “Information Technology Industry” (IT), based on All-Russian classifications RCEA and RCPEA, designed by HSE and endorsed by the expert community.

The average proportion of those who read popular science journals in Europe is 4 times higher than in Russia, but Europeans are more modest in evaluating their awareness about achievements in research than Russians.

These data are presented in a new Monitoring of the Economic Sentiment Index study carried out by HSE ISSEK Centre for Business Tendency Studies. The study used the results of sample surveys of 5,000 respondents representing the adult population (carried out on a quarterly basis by the Federal State Statistics Service).
