The experts outlined the potential for cooperation in the scope of S&T research projects and educational programmes.

How Equality Started in Research

Legally, the 1917 revolution solved the gender issue in the Russian academic community. The doors to the profession opened for women, but a ‘glass ceiling’ remained. Ekaterina Streltsova and Evgenia Dolgova studied who it affected and why. This study is the first to present a socio-demographic analysis of the female academic community in Moscow and Leningrad during the early Soviet era.

Digital Activity of Russian Manufacturing Companies in 2018

The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge continues to study business digitisation trends, and presents the results of a market survey reflecting the level of digital technologies’ application by Russian large and medium manufacturing enterprises in 2018. Managers of more than 1,200 companies in 30 Russian regions participated in the survey.

Business Digitalisation Index

The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge designed the Business Digitalisation Index which measures the rate of entrepreneurial sector organisations’ adapting to digital transformation in Russia, European countries, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, and Japan. The index is calculated on the basis of the following five indicators: broadband internet access, use of cloud-based services, RFID technology, and ERP systems, and participation in e-commerce.

Managers of R&D Organisations are not Worried about Personnel Shortages

HSE Student Awarded Russia’s Prize ‘For Loyalty to Science’ for Best Radio Programme

Vera Gribanova, a graduate student in the Master’s Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' runs a radio programme about great scientific achievements called ‘Scientific Light’ on the radio station ‘Moscow Talks’ (Govorit Moskva). This year her radio show has received the prestigious prize ‘For Loyalty to Science’, which is awarded annually by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
